Hello,

I am new at this off roading business.

Is this the right place for me? Most of the posts I have seen are from 4x4 owners and although we all share the same lanes I do feel a little vulnerable at the moment...

4x4 Vs motorcycle .....Hmm.

Having spend quite a bit of time looking on-line for routes that are legal and safe I have currently have only found a few - http://explore.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/account/show_profile/261

My job is creating database driven web sites - clever ones based on business processes. Would it be of any benefit to create one that linked in to google earth / google maps? If I were to create it do you think people would add their own routes into the site?

There is obviously the potential for abuse. My current thoughts are that if people knew where it was safe to go - and legal - there would be less illegal activity and the perception of us mud lovers would be better protected. It is in the not publishing that harm is found.

I would estimate it would take at least a weeks work to setup such a web site properly so no small investment on my part but would it be worth while doing? :?

Hi Nicolas and welcome to the slightly mad world of the MUDCLUB!!

I must say, you are the 1st 2 wheeled member that I know of?? there are some with road bikes, but we all go laning and playing in the mud with 4x4s.

I think there is mileage in what you suggest, but I THINK? its already running through the "GLASS" website. You need to be a member which I'm not yet but I do believe there is a list on there.
