A warning about www.bronco4x4.com
« on: February 02, 2008, 14:36:11 »
I am sorry for my first post being a negative one, but I wouuld like to bring to your attention my brother and my dealings with www.bronco4x4.com.
the tyres ordered were 4x bronco grizlies 265 75 16's for my brothers Shogun Sport

Right the story goes my brother ordered tyres from www.bronco4x4.com on Monday the 21st Jan and was told he would have the tyres on the wed or thursday.
Wednesday came and went and so did Thursday, now by this point my brother had tried to make contact with bronco4x4 several times and only managed to get the engaged tone or answer phone, he had also contacted Mastercard to find out that bronco4x4 had taken full payment on Monday 21st!!
Anyways he finaly manages to get through to bronco4x4 on Friday to be told they didnt know what had happened, all the papaerwork was in place but the tyres had not been sent, my brother was then told they would be in the post that day.

Saturday comes and goes and no tyres, my brother eventually gets through after many hours of getting the engaged tone or answer phone along with sending a few emails to be told that in fact bronco4x4 didnt actually have the tyres and he would have them by the end of the week ie. today! (Friday 1st Feb)
Well guess what no tyres, unfortunately my brother is now out on the rigs so it has been left to me to try contact them so here is a copy of my communications with them:-

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good day sir
I try here as well to contact you as your phones and "Live chat now" functions seem not to be working.

this message sent at 1504 (by live chat and then in this email)

I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO CONTACT ME
1133 hrs left a message on your answerphone - no return call
1153 managed to speak to you, you say you will give me a call within half an hour with tracking ID - no call
1336 I call you and you tell me that your working on it, as I type this your phone lines are constantly engaged and I still have not had a phone call from you
Graeme McFarlane
>my phone no<
this is not a way to be running a buisness

this message sent at 1535 (by live chat and then in this email)

Have you left your phones off the hook?
01538381765 and 08706061181?
Just I have been pressing redial as soon as I have hung up and yet after half an hour of trying I still cannot seem to get in contact
Are you trying to avoid me?
I only wish the tracking no for my brothers tyres as he is at his work and cannot deal with it right now.
Do you have the tyres? this is the same as what happened last week when my brother ordered they tyres and you said that you had sent them but infact you did not have them
it is now 1535 please answer me
Graeme Mcfarlane
>my home phone no<
>my email<

I still await your responce @1544hrs

Graeme Mcfarlane

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The time is now 1630 and I have still to hear from you
(by email)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, it is now 1708hrs 1st feb 2008

I have now wasted a whole day trying to contact you and I am most displeased.

Why do you refuse to contact me, I only ask for the tracking no. for the tyres you are supposed to have dispached to my brother (therefor you should have said tracking no.)

Have you actually sent the tyres or are you stalling for more time?

Usualy when a customer orders something and the company does not have it the money is NOT taken untill the goods are ready to be shipped, now if you do not have the tyres and you have taken payment I see this as theft!

please contact me, its not hard to lift a phone or type a few words in an email.

Graeme McFarlane
>my home phone no<
>my email<

(if goods are not received, my brother will be forwarding all emails to his credit card company, and traiding standards)

(by email)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

beware i would NOT DEAL with www.bronco4x4.com if you are looking for off road tyres

again sorry for my firs post being a negative one, but I dont want you guys getting ripped off

Graeme

oh dear, after a bit of digging I have just found this

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/291/ripoff0291859.htm

it says

I telephoned this company after visiting there website, and spent £460 on Landrover wheels and tyres, After paying by telephone using my bank card I was told the wheels would be with me in 3 days. Anyway 4 days went by so I telephoned the company to be told that they were in transit and the courier still could deliver upto 5.30pm. They failed to show. A few more days went past so I rang again to be told the same, I was told this every day for 6 days and still received nothing. As you can imagine by this time I was getting frustrated with the company just fobbing me off so I asked for a courier tracking number and telephone number.

They couldn't supply tracking number as there computer was down and told me the courier didnt have a telephone number??? I waited a further day or so just to be told they still couldn't get me the tracking number so I told them if I didn't receive the wheels by the next day I would be requiring a refund... As you have probably guessed the wheels didn't show so I telephoned them to arrange my refund, In total 20+ phone calls with no answer, so I withheld the number and hey presto they answered but soon as I mentioned my name they hung up on me! So I repeatedly hit the redial button and they answer and tell me he would arrange the refund that evening and to expect the money back in my account within 2-3 days. 5 days have now passed and no money has been refunded to my account? Ive been in constant contact with my bank and they have told me to get a Transaction Id for the refund that was supposedly sent, The company answered the phone and told me they couldn't get the number until there accountant was in the shop later that evening and instructed me to ring back after 6.30pm,, but they close at 6.00pm, He assured me he would answer the phone as after 6.00pm as they were still on the premises that evening. I decieded to ring early and guess what.... NO ANSWER!! Since then ive made numerous amount of calls but they fail to answer any of them or respond to my email. Im now taking legal action against them to get my money back , And have involved consumer direct/Trading standards as well as notifying leek police. I would urge anyone thinking of buying from this company to stay well clear.....

Sounds as if he had the same problem as my brother and I

I had no difficulties getting 215/15 tyres from them but, I have heard that they have real problems sourcing and supplying larger sizes, especially the Grizzly Claws.

ok just gave them a call, withholding your no works a treat

to my amazement I was given a consignment no for buisness post, I asked when it was dispached and he told me 3 or 4 days ago and that he would chase it up.
I entered the consignment no in buisness posts website and there was no information so I cave them a call and that consignment no was only booked this morning and not been picked up yet, the buisness post guy says he cant find out the delivery address untill after 7 pm tonight when it goes on the system

there might be light at the end of the tunnel but who knows, still not a way to run a buisness or treat customers im my book

Quite a few people have had probs with bronco4x4 deliveries in the past..... seem to remember something about grizzlies falling apart at the seams too (tread separating from tyre). On the other hand there are lots of people who've been very impressed with Bronco.
Think topics like this are good, gives other folk plenty of advance warning on possible problems with companies, their products and customer service.

Not used Sowden myself as i have friends in the trade, but I've been happy to recomment  them as I've never heard a bad word, only good.

As for Tim at D44, the guy is a star ;)

Yeah D44 are good. they sent my simex to the isle of man at a very reasionable price after they looked around for the cheapest currier. also in general simon is great and very willing to give and advice that he can. they can be a little pricey on some things but with the great survice it is worth it.
they get my vote.

Paddocks are also going through a good stage at the moment.

Paddocks are also going through a good stage at the moment.

I agree there I ordered my tyres on line on a sunday evening, they phoned first thing monday to tell me that there would be a delay as they were having a job to get and maybe up to a fortnite wait, wasnt in a rush so decided to wait. They then phoned first thing tuesday to say that they were coming in quicker than they thought and I would have em by the end of the week. Wednesday morning courier knocks at the door with the tyres. Not many firms that will keep you in the loop, and so quickly aswell.
The is back, but this time its got gas

Got to agree with that one, D44 are one of the best people for service and advice. Might not be the cheapest, but will help make sure you get the right parts for the job.

Their manufacturing, body work and installation skills are the best I've seen in a long time.

Got my tyres from silverline, good price and they also delivered them on the day I wanted too.

Everything on the Zook came from D4x4, even the bits I thought they would never be able to get (Vitara Snorkel AND replacement soft-top)

Tim, Jake, Simon, Liz, Kate, they all rock :) Phoned up Mr Tim, informed him what went bang and all the biots were her ethe day after, cracking stuff.

Milner are also bloody good for the odd Jap bits. Set of front Paj balljoints, bushes and a torsion bar in < 24 hours.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

ordered my boots from them, and not only did they come 5 days late they sent them to home address (billing address) (in southampton) when i clearly stated the postal address to be hertfordshire. this being because i'd had my tyres slashed at uni. on top of this one of the 5 was an inch larger than the rest

My mate uses Bronco on his Bob. Good in the Mud but dont seem very durable at all to be honest. As for Bronce i have heard lots of bad things about them but nothing good!

Sowden tyres i have always heard are very very good although i personally have not viewed them!
