Our first Mondeo came with 1 year free warranty from Warranty Direct. When the middle back seatbelt decided to play up, I took it back to the garage. They replaced the seat belt, but I had to pay for the new buckle (ford had changed the design, so it needed a new one). Since it was an improvement made by the manufacturer, they refused to pay for it. The fact that the new seat belt wouldn't fit the buckle didn't count at all. They dug up in saying that it was an improvement that Ford decided to do, and that it had nought to do with their policy.

Really there not worth the paper there written on , i had one years ago when i had my rover 820 i had a head gasket  go and after 3 weeks with no car and lots of phone calls and being told it was not covered they did it ,
also when i had my warranty you HAD to get a full service every 6000 miles and have engine and gearbox oil changed by an approved garage , so that's another £ 100 on top of the cost
i can not remember how much i paid for the warranty but it was something like £200- £300 back in 1995 i am sure i could have paid someone to do it and saved time and money .
