Bunnie:
I used to have insurance with Kwik Fit and still occasionally receive some of there special offers.
well tonight i got an email about warranty for the car i had insured.
so i took alook round the website and it seems very reasonable with cover starting from £16 a month purly for engine and gear box. it gives you the option of making your own policy up which includes everything from Transmision, air con supension and breaking. i had a play and added a few bits and it came to around £30 a month or £406 a year.
there is a down side in that the wont accept vechicles over 10 years old, so i understand it wouldnt cover a few of the trucks on here but i think its worth a note.. the address is: http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/

Edge:
Bunnie, be careful with "extended warranties", most companies have clauses in their policies whereas they only pay between 20%-95% of costs incurred depending on age of item to be covered (ie... if its 2yrs old you'll get 95% of repair costs, 5yrs old you'll get 20%).
moneysupermarket.com suggests "most" extended warranties aint worth the paper theyre written on.

Keep reading the small print until your damn sure you really do understand it [-o<

burgerman:
Not wishing to dampen your bomfire , But--- we did a load of machining on an engine, which had "a warranty", anyhow the main problem was a cylinder had become damaged and needed re-boring to a larger size, But as many of you are well aware you have to do a full engine set,But the warranty company only coughed up 1/4 of the total cost of parts and the punter had to pay the other 3/4 of the bill

I"m sure they are not all the same, but i havent come across a good one as yet  :-k

Bunnie:
yes its got on there how much they will pay for these things. it seems that no matter the age they will pay 100% of labour and then varing levels of parts as the age goes up.

Smego:
Yer but they will also find a god excuse as to why, "your bit" isn't covered....
