Engine's going to way about the same as the 2 boxes bolted together, but you don't have to lie underneath it when it's coming out.

either way i'd say but iff you go for the underneath idea as already said them boxes complete with transfer box are very awkward ,the weight from the t/box is offset and heavy and really keen to pin you to the floor so iff ya do it this way make sure you have a freind about and be carefull. ive got to do the rea\r main and gearbox rebuild so not got much choise, think i'll weight for warmer weather.....

Completed clutch change No. 6 last weekend on Mud-Knights 300 tdi by moving back boxes....., have sworn never to do it again....., I said that at least 5-times before.

If you have the technical manual, you can make a cradle that the boxes connect to and it's much easier....

I'm going to make one for the next time....

If you do take the boxes out, it's a three-man job, approx. 12-hours....., if it falls off the jacks, it's a five-man job to lift it back up ......., ask me how we know!!

Good luck
