Here's one for you
pux:
Well im doing silly miles backwards and forwards to work now :'( and my disco being what it is!!!! is killing me in fuel!!! So i have a cunnning plan (and no im not doing veg oil  ) Im running 33x12.5 15 tyres and a 4 inch lift, i was thinking if i take the 2" spring spacers out and possibly get rid of the big tyres and look for some smaller ones but what would look silly on my disco tyre wise as i have cut arches etc etc any help appreciated :afro: And hopefully this might help my fuel and the fact im up and down the gears all the time  Here's a picture of said disco to help you all. Or do i say sod it and sell the truck and look for something normal i.e maybe another disco but leave it standard height and some mud tyres and a snorkel plus protection.

You could fit a 1:66 transfer box to bring the gearing back into line & keep the disco as is.
Going back to 205 tyres with cut out arches will look funny (More excuse to take the mick out of the crabs )
Run on Veg Oil!! ...or nip over to the MT tankers :-'
To be honest for the amount of time & money you will spend messing you should get a cheap diesel hack for £500 & leave the disco at work...missus can't moan then!! (Isn't there any guys away on deployment with cars that need driving)?? :afro:

Well, if it's any help, here's a couple of older photos of mine:
1 inch lift and 265x70R15 tyres:
1 inch lift with 31x10.5R15 tyres:
You want a 1.44 transfer box with 33" tyres, the 1.66 will be too low-geared and just make the engine scream at motorway speed, if you even get that high!!

oi oi fish head  i think i might go down the route of shifting this truck on and finding something semi normal for me  i.e defender or another discovery i dont do extreme offroading just greenlanes so something more suited to going to work and playing in the mud is in order, atleast a near standard defender i can fir 235/85/15 tyres to and it still run normally and go out and play in the mud  with out having to chop arches and do other things too

Shame it's a nice wagon...will keep an eye out for a 110 for you ;) :afro:
