Pux, if you've still got the standard t-box in it then putting a 1.44 from a Defender in there maybe an option.
I did it about 3-4 years ago and, on 33" tyres, it brings the gearing back to about the same as when it was running on 205's. No more changing down when it sees a hill, no more doing 30mph in 3rd and waiting until you get to 45mph before you change into 5th.  ;)

Hey Budgie how does it cope on zie autobahn and does it help with fuel??? And jamie i think im going to be hard pushed to find a 110tdi on my budget which is a max of 3.5k :shock: :shock: cheers so far guy's for the help oh and fish head no i cant rob a 110 from work :lol: :lol: :lol:

I'm not going to kid you on that it's rapid but mine is happy cruising at 70mph all day, up hill as well as down, and returns about 26-28mpg with the roofrack and winch etc on it. It'll do upto 85 at a push and there's enough ooomph there for overtaking.

Not that I do much on the motorways, up here a motorway has one lane going in each direction!!  :lol:

Back to the original question, if you drop back to a 2" lift then 235/85 should look ok in there and cut your rolling resistance a little too, but TBH it's probably a better economy to buy a second car (other than perhaps the road tax) as you should be able to get your insurance cheaper on the Disco if you don't use it for work and the savings in fuel will help pay for the runabout.
