Fourtrak 4WD Issue
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:56:59 »
Ok Guys and Gals,

I'm looking at getting another fourtrak as I've seen one cheap. It might have a prob with it's 4wd system.

I have been told that if I prop the front wheels up on axle stands to check it and if in 4wd (Low or High gear ratio) the front wheels will still spin. Then there is a prob?

I have been lead to beleive this is a reliable way of testing the 4wd system is working as they should not spin in 4wd.

Does anyone have any ideas of where to start checking and what I should be checking for as I haven't the faintest idea of where  to start really. I'm guessing the Auto-Locking hubs woyuld be a good place but I'm not sure what I'm looking for in terms of potential problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciate as always.

You need new auto hubs, well atleast one new one, mine did the exact same thing, trouble was I replaced one and it then destroyed the other side.

I can get you  gen Daihatsu with discount or you can go non genuine from milner, google milner offroad.

I went genuine, once they're sorted you'll love your truck.
