I think the neatest way of doing it is like what Darren did.

But heres where I put the bull-bar light switch (black switch) and the roof lights (red switch)...



So yer theres, the above, and many more places... heres another I like as theres already two holes underneather then you just have to do two more on the trim.
Then fasten switch there with the retaining nut.



Another... there also another place the same the other side...



And lastly what I can think of is here which is where I'm mounting two switches for our two rear work lamps. The reason being is the worklamps are situated high so the switches would make sense to be too... just drill two holes or what ever in the removable trim...



All these solutions vary on the spec of your vehicle really...
