where have you put your switches

(1/3) > >>

whits:
i have a 300 disco and am part way through a bit of rewire and fitting spots and switches, etc
where have you put your switches as there dont seem to be many places without drilling and spoiling the dash,
cheers mark

Disco Matt:
If you look at the dashboard on the drivers side just above the drop-down panel (covering the fusebox) you'll see two vertical flat blank spaces - one either side of the steering column shroud. There's no metal behind these areas and the foam-backed plastic surface will hold a clip-in rocker switch firmly. You might squeeze two switches into the left hand space, I fitted one each side. The right hand one isolates the radio aerial while the left hand one activates my spotlights.

I can get some photos tomorrow if this description makes no sense!

whits:
pics would be great cheers

stageonesimmo:
You can also get the switch panel from a Disco II that fits in place of the ashtray - straight  screw-in job and the switches for fogs etc clip straight in (well, if you use gen parts ones they do)....

Do you use the radio re-tune etc buttons as they could be used as switches to trigger relays with the use 'dyno-taped' on - just don't put too much juice through em as they wont take it...
