hi 200tdi is doing  26 mpg is this good or bad  running big jf inter cooler, k&n ,no middle box,turbo running at 1,2 bar 235x85x16 tyres   :doh:

I would say that is quite reasonable...it all depends on your driving style.
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

Thats good,mine does about 23-24 mpg on the same tyres :D

Well, I cant tell you if its good or not, I dont know what mines doing. As I dont know what size the fuel tank is....its a 1988 90. I get 230 mile to a tank! I hope its a 40 litre tank!

THATS GOOD MAte,  ive always struggled to get over 20mpg out of a tdi, 200 or 300, i drive flat out admittedly all the time, but in a derv you have to!

on a 200mile run i got 33mpg out of my 200tdi.
but that was on a run, and i dont have a heavy foot (did not exceed 60mpg) and the fuel pump has not been tweaked.

Don't forget that if you are using non-standard tyres, the milometer reading will be inaccurate.
Using 235/85x16 tyres on a 90 will give an under reading, so you are actually doing more miles than you think (I worked out that the error was approx 10%). 90's usually came fitted with 205x16's.

ha ha did wonder about low mpg as before i changed wheels i was getting 28-30 on same run 10% would make up loss .but usually drive home about 75 mph then it eats derv but than again it is a brick on wheels not many bricks can go at 95 mph flat out :cool:

i get about 30 mpg with my 200tdi series 3, thats if i stay below 60
above 60, i get mental images of niagra falls

Ive just looked on a website, and it says LR 90's with under seat tanks are 90 litres in capacity???? Then on Rimmer Bros. it says the same, is this right???

If so, Im getting 11mpg :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

Just checked a PDF version of the original Owners Manual & the capacity of an underseat tank of a 90 is given as 54.6 litres (12 gallons).

It may be psychological but my mpg seems to improve when I have a large anvil in the back.  :?

If you have a tdi they do work better with a bit of weight to push along...know idea why  :-.  :lol:

Working on the grounds of having a 12 gallon tank, im getting 220 mile to it, working out at 18 mpg. Thats with 265/70 16" Colway Machos.

i worked out on the basis of 4.5 litres to a gallon i get approx 27 to the gallon average but if i drive it hard its about 20mpg approx
