Hi Rob, mine is the same with a bit of blue thrown in , but once its hot it virtually clears and is ok then, I think mine is something to do with seals or rings, but hey I will just run until the summer then for a strip down.
I asked porny, he has seen the smoke on mine and IIRC he said white smoke if not head gasket could be turbo seals, he will confirm if he appears.

Is the oil greyish or emulsified on the dipstick?
Could be a dribbly injector as said.
Does it happen again when you stop & re-start after engine has warmed?
How many miles are on the engine?
Cheers

ill check tomorrow bout the dipstick.
re the other questions...
no. once the engine is warm its fine, like a dream. hoever if left over night it does the white thing in the morning :(

Injector was leaking overnight, hence excess fuel in the cylindar.
Got worse over time - it used to run as lumpy as hell for the 1st min before i fixed it.
Might also be worth checking the glow plugs 1st - they are cheaper!!

thanks mark. good advice, i have just changed the glow plugs recently!!
how much are new injectors?

it does smell like derv... does this mean injectors?
thanks everyone!
Rob
Mark_Solesbury:
Cant remember how much it was...
It puffs white smoke only from that cylinder, which is why it puffs :)
You could pull them one by one to see which one is at fault, or get them all out and checked over by someone....
I think they are Bosch ones... Have a look on paddocks etc..
Edit...

Edit Again...
This could be total cock, but could you leave it overnight, pull the glow plugs before its started? Would one of them smell of fuel more than the others? if so, thats the cylinder with the leak!
