Had a drive in a Jimny...

V8MoneyPit:
As the title suggests, I had a go in an 06 hartop Jimny on Christmas Eve. My wifes friend has recently bought one.

Having only had Land Rovers and a Samurai, I was pleasantly surprised. It feels modern and quite refined! I found the power steering a bit over assisted and the brakes a little sharp, but other than that it drove really nicely. It was a bit skittish on the ice though. I wasn't doing anything silly and it slid sideways a little   Is that just rubbish tyres maybe?

I don't know what she paid for it, but she did well when she sold her Hyundai Accent Coupe for £1500   We bought it for her 18 months ago for £500!

damohick:
Mines a bit lively in the ice … and on muddy roads   . I've read it's due to the tyres, but then it is short and light too!

steviesuzy:
yep,ive got a jimny, not had any ice experiance yet,but very skittish on the road tyres, bridgestone duellers, may invest in some mud tyres soon, just to make it worse on the road lol.

V8MoneyPit:
I didn't get to see what tyres were fitted to Andrea's one. It was dark!

Tommo:
I learned to drive in one. found it a little too refined to be honest. good for someone who wants a car but also needs the 4wd bit occasionally.
