XJ V 90
« on: December 20, 2007, 21:13:51 »
Ive stirred up a bit of a hornets nest on the mitsi forum so ill get you lot going aswell ive a 90 at the mo and i think im gonna get rid in the new year and get something more comfier cos ive a very dodgy back and the 90 is doin me no favours as far as comfort is concerned but offroad it excels SO what is a XJ like offoad as far as ground clearance, ability, power and the usual ive been looking at the 4.0 maybe with a 3" lift and mud tyres would it keep up with a 90 with mud tyres on it?they seem very cheap for what you get but are they any good offroad---I do laning/quarries and pay and play days :D

A tricked up XJ will do Langdale extreme, as you were asking in the Mit section.

I did the maze in mine with 225 AT's on - just.  Got muds on and sailed around, mine is the 2.5TD with a lot less power than the 4.0.

Though with the 225 AT's a landy had to pull me out of a very big puddle

Two weeks later I'd got 31" Insa Turbo Saharas and sailed through the same section 8)

Cannot really say which is best - depends how much you modify - can say that the XJ is cheap and comfy 8)

Yes - around the 70/80 mark.

Where you cut back and forwards - one section with huge rocks at the end where you come back out onto the track.

Did need the transfer skid plate getting over them

Dont know waht your 90 is like / valued at but there was a guy called Snake110 on LRBoards.com who was looking to swop a very nice 4.0 litre HO jeep fpr a green oval badgerd motor.... think he very occasionally comes on here and ORRP as well.

Cheers Steve
