--- Quote from: "doris" ---Just a thought....  did your man use a flushing chemical like Forte?  I have heard they can cause low pressure in a worn engine.

Yes...

Erm, could someone explain low pressure...
Does it mean that the oil isn't being pumped around the engine at suffcient pressure?

ben_haynes:
yes it does mean that

i use this on all my customers vehicles and have never had a problem

can only think it is the Oil Presure switch faulty my old 200tdi had this problem

floyd fan:
I had a similar problem, I changed the switch but it was still the same. I fixed it by pulling the wire of the switch - no more warning light.

Guardian.:
TAKE IT TO A GARAGE AND GET THE OIL PRESSURE TESTED WITH A GUAGE, DO NOT JUST DISCONNECT WIRES, YOU WILL  END UP BUYING A NEW ENGINE THAT WAY IF ITS LOW.

Kaneda:
If the switch is ok, and you are getting the warning light coming on when driving - STOP!

It is possible that the pickup is blocked in the sump, or the pump is not working as well as it should.
