fuel prices high..... what we gonna do about it

<< < (8/8)

LiftedDisco:
OK... first, the history lesson...  My first tank of fuel was in July 1979 in a Hilman Imp - at the vast cost of 85p per gallon, I could FILL the tank for a fiver!

Oh happy days!

What we probably need is a whole batch of post-it type notes with the statement "This product was delivered by truck - the prices will have to rise to cover the increased fuel costs..."

If we all had a batch of these and chose a day to wander round the local retail areas - newspaper - came by road...  fruit - came by road....  toilet paper - came by road... beer - came by road....  petrol - erm, yes that came by road too!

Few cameras and vote hungry politicos in on the act and hey presto, we have something of an opposition at last.

Further thought to conclude the rant - if they put the time and energy into alternative energy such as Air Source and Ground Source heat pumps, we could all start to update heating systems and drastically reduce our home energy consumption... and let's not even think about the two new coal fired power stations A WEEK that are coming on line in China, adding to the pollution  [-X  [-X  [-X

The problem with the UK as a whole is that we are a nation that moans but we do nothing [-X If we could all get organised we might have a voice like the bleeping green eco lot. I saw one of their web sites today and talk about biast but they are being proactive by always being in the media and using media weapons like spoof parking tickets to try to shame 4x4 owners (not that this approach will work, if I ever catch one at that they will be sorry)
