fuel prices high..... what we gonna do about it

I found an article a while ago about this, but I can't locate it now!! Found that it was £4.16 a gallon in 1957 though.

Are you sure they don't mean equivalent to....
In 1957 £5 was probably close to the average weekly wage

It doesn't read that way. It was the Suez crisis, don't forget. Like in 1974, the price rocketted, then fell back to more normal levels.

Just filled my 90 up for the first time in nearly 2 months. Was pretty appaled at the cost, so I asked the girl behind the till to put a baraclava on and point a gun at me. So I could feel like I was being robbed properly, but she was not overly amused with the idea, neither was the manager!

thats a sad thing to hear, sodding goverment has so much to answer for, get some veggie oil in to it, if its a diesel.
