Mine know lives above the passengers feet where the air con matrix used to be. The worst bit is the size of the darn things, its a hard job finding somewhere to put them out of the way.

Which is why they went under the driver's seat.

Soft dash models have them on the RHS kick panel, they are a total bitch to get to.

They should be water proof.  My mate's TVR got a dunking in the floods and the ECU is still fine.  Just as well, it's the heavily tuned 430HC.
