QuickTime is doing my head in

<< < (2/2)

Jake:
I run itunes and quicktime on my pc for my ipod but i use media player 11 as my default player.
I got it from www.download.com
In the settings of M.P. 11, tell it to be the default player on all formats.
Now the two programmes work as they are supposed too.

--- Quote from: "sleeplessparadise" ---I know you said you don't want to uninstall it but that's what I would do! I won't instal quick time or real player cos they take over everything so I instal the alternatives   Look here for the alternative and here for Real player alternative  :D

QT is only installed because iTunes demands it and that was all it was being used for until the update. I have WMP11 set up as the default player for everything audio and visual but QT still sticks it's oar in  :(

It's on a tight leash with my firewall holding the reigns. I'm not worried about it snooping if it can't tell anyone what it's seen  :)

SteveGoodz:
Ok, I think I've sorted it out.

The stupid installer application doesn't give you any options during the installation and loads several plug-ins into whichever browsers it sees on the computer.

I went into Firefox's plug-ins screen to find the name of the dll being used and then searched for that on the hard drive. Having found the dll I simply changed it's extender to ".dllzzz" and that stopped it loading  :)

I'm a happy bunny again  :P

Thanks for the help, folks.
