disco springs

<< < (2/2)

jaysastud:
cheers for that mate,it just i have a spare set of springs that i believe are a 1" lift and my mate has a diesel that he wants to put a small lift on,so just wondered befor we got to work on it and found it wouldnt fit!cheers again!

clbarclay:
Free length is just one part of the equation, you will also need to know what rate (stiffness) they are as well. Most lift springs tend to be the same length as standard, but a higher rate.

The trouble with fitting V8 springs to a Tdi is that a V8 is about 100kg lighter. This results in the V8 lift springs to giving as much lift if fitted to a heavier TDi.

Steve ray:
beat me to it Mr Barkley - the TDI lump is way heavier than a V8 petrol, so imagine if you've got V8 springs on a TDi motor, with a winch & winch bumper say = saggier than a 60yo former page3 girl !!

I dunno, Linda Lusardi still looks rather well sprung :D  (well to an old codger like me she does anyway)
