I'm a member of the same club and though I agree with Dyf to a certain degree, it's not too bad once they know your face.
Go to club nights about every 3 months or so - usually with the kids who think it's fantastic. Know a few people - whole club seems to know me  :shock: as 'the Doctor', despite my never, ever, telling them what I do.
Am considering starting trialling with them this year, just RTV at first and am even considering training as a Marshall. Most LRCs have copies of the ARC etc. regulations - Red Rose do and these are available at club nights.

for what its worth i did a few rtv's which were ok then jumped in at the deep end by doin compsafaris with slroc then deciede to do the trials aswel,the main people in the club who made every1 else outsiders have since 1 has been removed & the other cnt be bothered 2 come out to play cos he gets cuffed frequiently,i found that i was made to feel an outsider when i moved from rtv's to trials but when i started puttin in the results & showin the big £ guys with a standard ish 90 its all stoped,

Not all A.R.C. clubs are the same.
The first couple of times you get nothing, but then you volunteer to help or to marshall, then some one needs a navigator, then you're hooked.
I found that if you make an effort then you'll get accepted.

I cant agree anymore,i started of by marshalling then when i was old enough to compete i started navigating/ballasting & now im driving,,ill help any1 in the same way they would help me when i need it (regularly) :oops:
