Speakers
BigSi:
Where and how can I mount a pair of speakers in the truck cab? I think somebody here has a pair mounted under the dash on both side which I quite like.
Jimbo:
Trouble with having speakers mounted under the dash is that they point straight at your knee (and your passenger knee).......the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired - although in the 07 Defender they've put tweeters up on the top of the dash, this helps a lot with drawing the sound 'up' into the cab. You could look into mounting speakers in the doors - but you'd need to either purchase or build a mounting pod for them (to space them away from the glass) as there is no space behind the door card.
Alternatively, what about mounting some high up at the back of the cab - the o/s would point right at your right ear though !
adafish:
i've got a pair behind me ears and the a pair behind the kids in the headling of the DC..then a another pair of House Speakers behind the rear seats....
Bush Tucker Man:
My old 110 Hard-Top had speakers let into the head-lining just above the seat-belt mounts in the B-posts.
The sound was top-notch, & more to the point didn't need 'mega-volume' to be heard, hence was clear & undistorted, unlike the standard mounting position (pointing at your knees)
Tommo:
ive got some home hi fi speakers between the seats! lol. at BBQs and stuff i get them out and stick em on the bonett.
