Auto box slipping
« on: November 07, 2007, 14:44:01 »
A question from a friend who runs a 1988 classic 3.5 V8 Efi Automatic with about 102,000 miles on the clock.

Symptoms are, when under load and or towing a trailer the auto box seems to slip similar to a manual box with clutch slip. I'm informed that the box is full of the correct fluids :?

Any advice please so I can pass it on to him.

Thanks
Graeme

Well, other than it's supposed to :?

Could be excessive wear in the brake bands, good new is they are serviceable/adjustable if they havn;'t gone completely.

Otherwise a tin of "yak"
