Knocking noise in 200tdi head? HELP??????

I had a similar problem with a mini once - think one of the rocker adjusters had slackened off, plus the rocker gasket was real thin and I'd bolted it down too hard - the rocker arm was tapping on the cover.
Doubt it's this but just a thought.

Take the rocker shaft off and then crank the engine over and see if you can still hear it...

Could your timing have changed somehow?

Failing that, i spose you could take the had off (it doesnt take long) and whatever the piston is hitting will be obvious!
