New Stealth Ta<<<< Recycling Scheme
graham:
I've been cleaning my garage out thought I'd better get it done as they're making things more difficult to get rid of rubbish, had to use the wifes Pug 206 took 3 loads, could have done it in one with the pickup but I can't go to the re-cycling with it.
Will burn some of it in the garden tomorrow while its still firework season.
Through the winter i put some of the house hold rubbish in the wood burning stove.

The main thing, IMHO, is to buy less in the first place. Don't use supermarket packaged products. Buy locally produced, fresh food. That way, there is less waste to dispose of.
I happen to have had, this weekend, some shop bought eggs and a tray of free range from the local farm. The farm eggs were fresher, better flavoured, and *much* cheaper. Why, oh why, do people think supermarkets are cheaper? I appreciate people in cities don't have access to fresh farm eggs as easily as we do in the country. On the same basis, it mustn't be assumed that everyone has the same access to recycling facilities. Rural councils have a far more difficult job in this respect. They *must* address, this. But it is not as easy logistically as in cities.

im already suffering from this and it aint even begun. i live in an end of terrace house with an alley way between me and the neighbour. i now have to lock my wheelie bins up....yes you did read that right....i have to lock my wheelie bins up as people keep putting thir rubbish in our bins. and this is before they start charging
i first noticed it when i went to bring our recycle bin in after they had emptied it in the morning.....well it was still full.... :? there was a sticker on the top saying that they dont recycle glass and other contents that were in my bin. now i know we didnt put it in there   ...ever snce then we have had to lock our bins to stop this happening again....
but now instead o putting it in our bins they throw it in the alley way instead :? :?
we are on fortnightly collections as it is now. we recycle what we can but the council are very picky at what they can take......why cant they recycle glass here but up the road they can :?
this is just a scam to get more money out of us aint it.....
V8MoneyPit:
I'm sure local authorities want to do it right, but at the same time they will be rubbing their hands together with glee at the idea thay can charge more for it.
Red Defender:
I've got so tired of by weekly collections and over flowing bins that i now have the policy - if it burns then its burnable, why should i pay £160 a month to have my wheelie bins stolen off my drive and have to sort my own rubbish ! and on top of that the glass collection this week was refused cos there was water in some of the bottles !!
