<< < (2/3) > >>

stuntman:
Mine is the same, I have taken the cover off the rear door and looked at the mechanism, there is an expansion spring that should hold a part of the lock down, have a look for you self it may not be the sping inside the lock it may be this outer spring?

Did my rear door - spring was about 99p on ebay - took 25 minutes to fit (hardly a 'mare of a job')

Its not that bad of a job.
It would be a good idea to photopraph the lock linkages before you remove them though.

Ralph Hardwick:
Boot door and rear doors are okay, front doors are a b****d.

I have replaced all of mine at one time or another.

It took me 4 hours to do the front door (which basically has to be ripped apart just to get to the lock) and 20 mins to do the rear door.

The spring kit weren't available when my boot door went so I had to replace the whole lock mechanism (about £50).  The spring kits are staight forward.  I got mine off ebay.

If you have the RAVE CD for your bus then there are actually pretty good diagrams in there. Saved my bacon.
