He hasn't bought them yet. The pic is from a mail order site. :)
Guardian.:
YOU CAN PUT THE SPACERS FOR THE CALLIPERS ON AND GO VENTED I BELIEVE, BUT WOULDNT OF THOUGHT IT S WORTH IT AS STANDARD BRAKES I THINK ARE OK WITH GENUINE PADS.
Range Rover Blues:
TDi Discos had solid disks, V8 Disco had vented. Same calliper except the spacers which you can buy on flebay in a kit along with the discs.
Those look like the EBC ones though and they recomend you don't fit EBC pads to solid disks on the front.
Vented and drilled/grooved are designed to shift heat faster, in addition grooved help reduce 'green fade' where the pad starts to gas and the gas seperates the pad and disk.
Without going for bigger disks and callipers I recon that grooved and drilled disks like those, in combination with the pads and vented disk callipers are about as good as you are going to get.
daveyravey:
Not all v8's had vented discs, as mine are solid.
