Suspension lift: does anyone else have this problem?
thermidorthelobster:
I had a similar problem with the 101 in Africa when the centre prop shaft (ie the one driving the middle axle) suddenly started rubbing on a chassis member. The rubber gearbox mount had split and hence the gearbox was sitting a little way lower than it should have been. A small change in geometry made a big difference to the prop shaft.
Bulli:
whatever you choose to do you need to rectify the issue before it destroys your prop or tfr case.
you could mod the existing crossmember if you are reasonable with a welder. I had the same issue on my disco as i have a 3 link and 4 inch lift. I couldnt mod the x member as it is a strengthened safari gard one so i got round the problem by fitting a dc front prop. it moves the pivot forwards which prevented it hitting the x member.
Bulli:
ps if this hadnt been in the modded section, i would never have seen it

Thought I'd get more response in the Rangie section. Oh well!! I'm going to remove it tomorrow and notch it out and weld it up. The gearbox mounts seem to be ok.

I did this to mine and had no further problems.
