Ropey springs??
Eightpot:
I managed to pick up a set of 'bargain' coil springs at Sodbury, but I've got a niggling doubt with them, and not sure I want to put them on now -
As usual the shiny mist came over my eyes and I parted with 30 bits of paper for something shiny without realy looking at it ....
Apart from being as hard as rock - green/yellow/yellow/yellow (which I can't find a code for) which is ok as its for an expedition truck, my main worry is that the springs don't have the ends milled flat. They have been wound in tighter at the end so they stand almost vertical on a flat surface, but just wondering if it will place too much pressure on the spring mounts if they aren't flat and level all the way round, or if it may force the springs to bow or pop out.
Any thoughts??
Eightpot:
On further investigation, looks like I was lied to and sold non LR springs - what a nob, he actually said they were new heavy duty military springs for a 90.
Just measured the free length which is only 13", a couple of inches shorter than standard HD springs (though still a bit taller than mine :? ), in fact shorter than any listed spring - and the paint codes don't match up to any list I've looked at .
Hope he spent his 30 quid on a heavy car door, then banged his fingers in it.
L90OOK:
What the colour code on them?

Sorry, couldn't resist :)
