Is there actually a problem?

Cleaning the intercooler is a service item at 48,000 mile intervals. How long since it was last done?

I agree.  All 200tdi's drip oil into the airfilter box & either back through the intercooler or out the rubber valve on the air box.  Not really a problem unless the engine is breathing heavy.

Now you have cleaned everything I'd just monitor it for now.  :D

I found Julies 300 TDI doing the same when I took the head off it.  I've bought a catch tank for it and removed the oil breather from the oil trap on top of the engine and blanked it off where it enters the inlet just ahead of the Turbo.  Cleaned the turbo with WD40 BTW.

The catch tank vent to atmostphere through a little air filter, let's see how long it lasts as without the catch tank the filer was full in a week.
