Front Tyres

matthew:
Even wear in the centre of the tread sounds like over inflation to me. How did you measure the 28psi? was it a forecourt guage or your own accurate guage? Forecourt guages can be way out. Are the tyres crossply or radial?

BTW my 109" runs with 25psi all round on 7.50R16s

Andy the Landy:
pressures were measured at work with the gauge we use for coaches. tyres are crossply. sometimes get a little twitch in the steering whether its in a straight line or cornering

banditman:
That little twich is just a Series Landy thing Andy so I wouldn't worry...

I'd be tempted to change to a better tyre myself, as our's has done hundreds of miles now (always stuck in four wheel drive!), had lots of off road abuse, had an axle change and the tracking not checked (has so much play in the steering anyway that I doubt the wheels ever stay together for long!) and there is still no tyre wear at all....

Nice set of Radial Remoulds will do you just nicely....... 8-[

Andy the Landy:
Steering box doesnt normally have any play in it though Martin, you see I've adjusted it so its got virtually no play in it, 2mm either way thats all :D

banditman:
I reckon mine moves more than that on it's mountings !!

Definitely don't need a metric ruler to measure the play in mine, that's for sure...
