90 wheels
« on: October 02, 2007, 15:45:30 »
Hi all

Brian the Sn@il is probably having some standard 90 wheels and tyres from me. Will they fit straight on his Series 3? I'm assuming the centre hole and stud pattern are the same..... or am I mistaken?

oooh ...

That's an interesting one..

The holes are in the same places and the center hole is clearly in the same place, but the alloys won't fit as the series motor has quite a sizable hub to get over.

8-Spokes, steel modulars etc will be fine, the Rangie Rostyle wheels won't fit however for the same reason.

These are standard 90 steel wheels.... nothing fancy like alloys  :D So I assume these will have the same problem?

Are the S3 wheels 16"? At least he could use the tyres then.

I don't know to be honest, but I imagine so...

Although, the early 90s couldn't take alloys either so perhaps not ...

I'd ask one of the powers that be, but they all seem to be somewhere else.

S3 wheels are 16" and any non alloy will fit fine from a 90/110 onto a series.

Wolf wheels may not leave enough stud showing but I have got by so far.  Disco stells arent rated high enough for LWB vehicles technically but many people use them with no issues.  Standard 90/110 rims will fit fine.
