There was a Clio parked in the self-same position most of the afternoon today as well.

I'll get my coat before the admin concerned arrives  :D

Ahem...  It may interest you to know that the reason I was parked like that is because trucks keep hitting my wing mirrors....

Only the mirrors? I've got pic's of a certain white disco after the 'smiths metal centres' driver had reversed into the wing then driven off, (insert invective of choice)!

Saw you go up and around J9 yesterday. Sat there chuckling thinking 'That wont be any faster'

I wasnt chuckling an hour later...

Its possible no-one would have known who I meant had you not replied :)

An hour? 'kin'ell I got to Segensworth and it all stopped, so after a few light cycles I thought B this for a game, changed to east bound instead of joining the west bound, hopped off at J11, up through to boarhunt, wickham, bishops waltham, fair oak, eastleigh and under J5 into work, only 30 mins late....

So what WAS the problem?

Yes the blue beast is quite recognisable...

Total Journey time from J12 1 hour 50 mins.
There was a badly parked (see what I did there?) flatbed blocking lanes 2 and 3. The numpties sent the recovery wagon in from Soton though so it had to go all the way through 2 traffic queues AND J9.

I am SO glad you lot werent around Chesterfield in the summer. the number of times I had to park in Tesco's with a lwb tranist van and a box trailer. My record was 6 car parking spaces. How else could I park apart from going lengthways across empty spaces. I would like to add though I parked in the furthest point from the doors not to annoy people hopefully!

YEs I think some folks have a very uncharitable attitude towards caravans/trailers.  On the rare occasions I have found caravns parking spaces at the services they are usually full of truck drivers kipping down for the night (so they don't have to pay for a lorry park), although more usually no provision whatsoever is made for car/trailer combinations.

For those who think it's funny to block other people in on such occasions I'd warn you that people who drive that badly probably think nothing of bumping into you either.  A mate of mine had his car reversed into by 'some old git' who, having walked past said car then jumps into his Astra and reversed straigtht into it.  Whne my mate blew his horn the 'git' just looked daggers at him, like he shouldn't be there.

"s'why I drive  range rover mate". (his car was a MkIII 'Tina BTW).

Unparking!

I have been reversed into in my Disco by someone unparking badly. Passat, reversed into my NSF corner whilst I was waiting for him to reverse out- this was within a week of getting it.

Sunday, sainsburys petrol station, man does a Uturn in the entrance and doesnt quite make it, I have to stop for him to reverse, and he does so- looking over his right but not left shoulder, failing to notice my mud covered black discovery, with yellow and black hazard stripes down the sides. Bump! into my NSF corner again.

Luckily I sustained no damage on either occasion, the passat cracked a rear light lens. the other one came off with a black mark off my bumper.

How can people fail to observe SO badly.

This is why Blue is called 'the spanish inquisition', because nobody expects it.  It's had more minor knocks than every other car I've owned put together.

Had another on Friday night, stopped at the M2 roundabout, heard a big bang from behind, run into by some dizzy bint in a rover who was trying to work out what she'd hit whilst I drove off, laughing.  It was obvious she had no intention of checking my car was ok.

I agree.

One day, I was helping out at the Little Theatre in Leicester and I heard the alarm on my Defender going off. I went out to it (parked in the car park opposite the theatre) and found that there was the remains of a light cluster on the ground by the OSR mud flap and a small scuff visible on the top of the mud flap. No damage to my vehicle. :D
I never found out what had hit me, but it had obviously been backing out of a parking space.

Shame you couldn't park closer to him and get the other one to park on his other side, then stood back and waited for them to come out again
