Most reliable/abused car you ever owned/couldnt kill!
madgaz:
Sorry to dig up an old (ish) thread but I came across it while searching
We have just sold r lasses Peugeot 106. This has been driven to the limit EVERYTIME I took it out and the only things replaced are the radiator and battery in 5 years (and the oil of course every 7k ish  ) and we had a drive shaft go at one point
It just keeps going and going but due to a change in 'wanting' we have let it go which brings a tear to our eyes
While the Pug was getting the drive shaft repaired we bought a XR2i from the motor auctions for £80  I ended up thrashing this for about 12 months (and when I say thrashing I mean THRASHING    ) but the thing kept on running like a dream and NEVEr let us down. I remember it well haha. The paint work was pink and VERY faded. The laquer was non existent to about 80% of the thing and the interior looked like it had been met by Freddy Kruger but hell was it one hell of a fun car to drive
We sold it on fleabay after 12 months as drive space was getting limited but we managed to pull £300 for it somehow
I wish we had kept the little thing :P
We had a call from the police 6 weeks after selling it
Looks like the chavvy git who bought it didn't send the log book off like he was supposed to and it had been involved in a chase
Luckily we had a reciept for the sale signed my both the buyer and I and the prat had used genuine details on it :(biglaugh):
Now I will also point out here that I 'can' be a forum whore at times and I LOVE emoticons :(biglove):

Dr Evil:
Had a Triumph Acclaim, the one with the Honda engine. My Mum & Dad bought it new in 1983 and gave it to me in 1994 with 75k on the clock, after only buying one set of tyres and a battery. I had it for 3 years, putting another 40k on it and never spending a penny, never changed the oil, never topped up the water, never had to. Only got rid when it failed the MoT, and then sold it to the milkman for £75.
smurf:
Old Ford Sierra Estate.
I think it was a 'C' reg, got nailed, I mean really thrashed to Wales & back every weekend to feed mine a few mates beer habits! (we were only late teens, early twenties).
I think it was a 1.6, & very reguarly I got people saying "its gonna blow" as the revs screamed.... Even took it off road  Yep,were driving down a lane & for a laugh took it across a grass field, heads banging off the roof lining, sides splitting with laughter, car 'see sawing' over the bumps.
Bought for £200 & sold for £50 about a year later.
Also a 'D' reg Capri Laser, only problem was a sticking auto choke. Quick bang with a hammer each morning sorted that.
The good old days.
redhand:
