nother shout for VW's!
our VW passat, done 145,000 miles and still going. she has had everything from hand brake turns to driving across feilds, everything... brilliant car.

Gotta plug my old citroen xantia again   :shock:

300000 miles in 6 years of hard driving (country-vet) and never got stuck!
Found the raising suspension very usefull.
In all that time all she needed was brakepads and discs. Clutch, wheel bearings ,suspension all original. Didn't even use any oil.
parked it up in august 2006 and treated myself to a citroen C5 which was a huge DISASTER  :(
anyway, sold the xantia in march 07 unseen, pumped up tyres, charged the battery and turned the key: started instantly, suspension raised itself and she drove all the way from Doncaster to buckinghamshire, top car that. miss it at times. The scooby forester has been nowhere near as reliable..........

This car was given to me and had 4 months mot on it and a bit of tax.
Used it for work then we tried to kill it and it would'nt die ,even after rolling it over a few times
Still managed to drive it to the scappie
And a yogo 55a fully loaded ,Paid 150 for it used it for 2 years and in that time it passed it's mots and the only thing that broke was the rear pipe.
I then sold it for 200, i made a profit on the old girl

Thrashed to within an inch of it's life all day every day and still went and went.

Sold it in the end to a pub builder (you know the bloke in the bar who can do anything builderish but is always in the pub but still signs on :wink: )
still see it around bangor even though I sold it 8 years ago :shock:  :shock:

the longest I have ever owned a car - a 1996 Saab 9000 Aero, it had 150,000 when I sold it and never missed a beat, had a starter motor on it in 4 1/2 years and it hadn't stopped working just made a dodgy noise so I replaced it (pre-empted a breakdown)  It was as quick as thhe day I got it but PX'd it for a Disco!!
