HI, go for a late N or a P reg should find one for that money swb is about £1000 cheaper than the lwb, 95/96 is when they gave the 2.8 D an electronic fuel pump these dont have much if any problems, the 2.8 has a timing chain not like the 2.5 that eats belts and heads!, the only clue unless you digg in to find the pump is the late models had 16 inch wheels a heater/ac screen that is about 3"x2" and a tube shape air filter rather than an oval one, the later 2.8 also has a bit more go in it, other than that if its a clean looking motor BUY IT
Cheers
Colin.

For the sake of a couple of MPG, get the 3.5 V6 petrol.... far more reliable than either of the diseasal engines and suprisingly little difference in the MPG. Old shoggy 3.5V6 LWB did around 19mpg driven fairly hard. 2.8TD LWB Paj is averaging about 21MPG driven by the girly. 3.6V6 UK spec is 205bhp, 3.5Paj is 240bph. 2.8UK spec is ~120bhp and ~140bhp for the Paj Import.

There are a few over on Pocuk.co.uk at the moment in the for sale section, have a little nose there. They certainly are not going for book prices at the moment so do haggle.

Final thing, no two paj's seem to have the same equipment level, so have a look at a few before you buy! I wouldn't touch the 2.5 myself as i have read far too much about head cracking and overheating problems for my liking. If you look at a pre 96 2.8. make sure it's had the Diesel pump serviced as the change from Jap to UK diesel wrecks the seals and gives you starting problems. it's ~£300 - 500 to get it sorted with a full rebuild.

always test these before you buy.

Cant imagine why he laughed.... unless he'd had one before :)

The other place to look is the many import auctions springing up. There is one at the end of tyhe Mancunian Way in Manchester every week
If I could only find some mud to play in, I would be as happy as the preverbial pig!!!
