I'm not saying it's not a family friendly car, but maybe she thinks if you get rid of the 4x4 for an estate/hatchback/nice family saloon ( :shock: ) you won't be able to go laning, thus no mud.

Personally from the childs point of view a suitably large 4x4 is perfect giving plenty of space in the back and a decent view, both making for more pleasent journies. Evan better were the early RRC with a propper flat bench seat, 99% of modern cars have either seats shaped for 2 people not 3 or have not enough space for waring kids.


At one stage my farther sold the 1970 RRC and bough a sierra instead, after a few years the sierra was sold and we went back to a RRC as the family car.
