The whole "pedestrian friendly" thing leaves me completely confused. Surely the safest things is for the stupid lemmings to look before stepping out in front of 2 tonnes of Land Rover bearing down on them?

Well, yes, but the front of a Land Rover hitting you at 20mph is big and blunt, whereas a piece of steel wire isn't. I know which I'd rather walk out in front of.

The calling any 4x4 a Jeep gets me but then again the 'Do you use it off road' bit does get annoying..

Had a guy ask what the chimney was for , told hid so i could go in deep water he said how deep , i replied as long as that the top is out of the water were ok , he just looked dome not sure whether to beleave me or not .
As for the roof wires i have started to use the thin ratchet straps about an inch wide and come in all colours they seam to work as well as the wire ones and easier to take on and off

i've noticed loads of people referring to the high exhausts (snorkels)...they seem to fail to notice the standard metal pipe out the back where it normally is... :roll:
i got asked if i take my rangie double cab offroad...i would have thought the coating of mud and panel damage gave the answer away (stupid rockery garden thingies in tesco car park :lol: )
and i always remember the first time i took my first rangie offroad and got it plastered in mud / clay...i turned up at school and someone came in and asked me did i know what had happened to my car :shock:
