disco lock spring

Anyone got a part number for the little 2 turn coil over-centre spring that holds the locking/opening mech. into place?

I hear that the whole lock need replacing, but I hope thats wrong! BTW its a 92 200 and the lock is marked GM (general motors).

I got one of these springs off Ebay yesterday. Try a search using 'Discovery door latch spring'.  I think there are several people who make them, it cost £9.50 inc postage.  It hasn;t been fitted yet so i don't know if it works!!!

The cars booked in for Monday 10th so ill let you know if it works then.

You can also source these from the Discovery Owners Club, www.discoveryownersclub.com. Personally I would support a local club rather than someone making a fast buck on e-bay with suspect quality parts.
