Next RSS question...
When I hover the mouse over a topic on Newsticker, I usually get a pop-up box with a short synopsis of the story, from my other news feeds.
With the mud-club rss feed, I get a great wodge of html source code, with the story hidden in there somewhere :)
Is it possible to get the mud-club feed to trim out all the html stuff?
Thanks,
David

I think you might have some issues with your feedreader.
The RSS feed contains XML in order to tell the reader what parts of the message are the topic, message body, etc. etc. If we took them out, the system wouldn't work.
I haven't yet installed the one you are using on my Mac, so I can't say much more than that (and even that is uncertain ! ) at the moment.

I don't think it's the xml that's the problem, it seems like the "preview" part of the feed is embedding the html for the item instead of the raw text. For example there's all the href tags for the links, img tags for the images etc, which you wouldn't need in a simple text preview.
But I'm open to correction on this, as there seem to be a lot of different rss variants!

There are a number of RSS versions, this is true.
The RSS readers I have here all support HTML in the messages, so you get links, etc. in the message on your desktop.
I'l have to have a play with the client you are using to test compatibility, etc.
