*Urgent request for parts to get a vehicle mobile!*
« on: August 27, 2007, 15:06:56 »
Datalas is currently on his holidays (up here in Northampton at the moment) - and the expansion bottle on the vehicle he is driving (Piglet) has split. Does anyone in the nearby area have access to one that we can fit? Obviously everywhere is shut today :(

It's a 300 series expansion bottle (I assume V8 and 300Tdi are the same) for a 1997 D1.

So if you can help - please contact me. My number is 07886812932

I've got one you can borrow (from another car) but it's more than an hour up the road

Thats not good. Has it split on the original seam?

I know its a long shot, but you may be able to temporarily repair with epoxy. Dig the grrove out a little, and fill. Then glue a patch of an old coke can over the top.

Ive patched up a rad like tis in the past. It lasted about 6 months.

It's split along the seam. They tried liquid metal yesterday, pushed into the seam but I'm assuming that didnt work.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
