Know the beach well, although there are plans to close it completely to motor vechicles, they have aready banned lauching boats etc even harmless sailing dinglies
Not only a silly thing to do but its against the law and since you cannot use the excuse of launching boats luckly not to be proscuted, don't worry i won't be ringing the plods cause i don't do that thing.
But there are individuals who are members of national 4x4 organistions who do, they troll though websites like this looking for the slightest deveration off the track and straight on the phone or email a certain plod whose job is specialist in dealing with us. Several greenlaners have been proscuted and there been one case which went to court, but was dropped after legal arguements. So not wise in posting the pics.
You were also luckly in that the "hobby bobbies" allowed you on the sand, i was once there when a 2x4 got stuck on the stone ridge, they though by going downhill onto the sand it was a way out. Only to get further stuck, we wanted to assist with others but were prevented by the "hobby bobbies". In the end pulled him up using serveral ropes and a winch, the driver received certainly a "ticket" although i don't know what happened after.
So be warned lose you truck, get a large recovery bill, a fine, court apperance and a crimminal record.

Ben..
Why on earth would anyone try and recover using the back door? it's not exactly pinned in very well, and if you used the spare as the anchor point it would just pull out the ali skin and bend it, or rip the lock/hinges off. I've seen some idiots do this with a 90 in a mud hole. Before we could say STOP! there was a ripping noise and a door travelling VERY quickly on the end of a rope. LUCKILY no one was hurt, but the door and wheel did smash into the recovery vehicle.
It is not, nor will it ever a wise thing to do. If the waves were too bad - leave it.
