Help. Knocking Noise!
« on: July 30, 2007, 16:16:59 »
Can anyone help. I'm getting a knocking/drumming noise from the front end of my Jimny when I accelerate in first gear from a stand still. It happens mainly when turning to the left.

Any suggestions to the cause would be greatfully accepted.

Almost certainly cv joint. Is it a lot worse when under power?

Check the joint on the left first, if the boot is split then its probobly full of crud and muck.

Dont think they can be replaced on most modern veichles so be ready for a new driveshaft if thats what it is :(
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
