« on: July 28, 2007, 10:58:43 »
Morning, need to put some sort of front recovery point on my disco 300 tdi, i was kindly given some new jate rings by a member....but where do i mount them and do you fasten the bolt right up tight or is it left loose so ring has a bit of movement?. Help as i need to fit these today for a trip tomorrow.  :shock

I have the Equipe ones, and they swing loose even after being snugged up tight.

May I recommend dabbing some grease on the bolt to ease the install?  It worked wonders for me.  The first one took 5 minutes with a hammer, and the second, greased one slid right in.

I'm assuming you'll put the extra one on the rear?  Only room for one on the front.

not sure on a discovery but on a defender they go where the tie down eyes would go. i used high tensile bolts and a wingnut on ours... tightened them so the bolt/nut were tight, but the jate rings still had movement
