Windows steaming up when I turn the heater on.

Yep, that's it, I had the same but once unblocked no more mist :)

I had the same... removed the blocked drain plug from under the heater intake... never bothered to refit it...

Likewise, except i had to remove the intake as well to clean it out as it was full of stagnant mud :roll:

will give have a look tonight. i take it you are all talking about the plastic intake underneath the passenger wing, with the grill on top? (i'm okay with older landies, but not so knowledgable with the newer stuff!)
Edge:
Plastic grille on wing feeds heater air intake (passenger side). Look for big black box in engine bay exactly infront of passenger...it has a cable on top that adjusts it from within cab!!! Underneath you will feel a rubber nipple type thing (has a slit in it to allow water to escape), pull it free (you can refit it no prob). Water will run out of the black box....."job done-no more steamy windows". (that is a 300tdi, not so sure about td5 etc)
