i have to disagree.
a friend got 50,000 miles outta his, and compared to your 12,000 miles from a special track, i would fork out.
i run bfg mt on mine, and i cant fault em. a blinding tyre, would not even consider anything else....

I can put up with getting 12000 miles out of a tyre as that would only mean changing tyres about once a year if i decided to keep to the ST but in all honesty there'd prob be something different id like out and id be bored in less than 12000 miles, or i might like em loads and keep running with em.

Im just looking for roughly what to expect from running them wear wise and so on and what there road manners are like, but its no good asking a shop as 90% of them are biased towards there profit margins and try and sell you something you don't really want.

Seriously people for what its worth running 2 sets of tyres is not too difficult, bearing in mind that tyres may be good down to 1.6-3mm on the road, but once below about 50% tread then their performance will suffer off road. Why waste off road tyres with lots of road miles?

The only good reason (other than "I'm just lazy") I can think of is if your going to be driving off road every 5 minuets like if you work in forresty etc.
