Help I am getting a cruise control kit for my 2003 td5 disco and wonder has anyone else fitted one and can give me instructions
boss:

Where are you getting the kit from?, Got mine from discoparts and instructions came with it. Very simple though.
Remove battery
Remove air bag (scarry bit), - you need a torx screwdriver for this bit
Cut hole on right side of steering wheel using the template provided,
Fit the SET/RES switch through hole,
Connect cable to SET/RES switch,
Refit air bag,
Fit ON/OFF switch into the dash.
Done

Thanks Mike thats ware my kit is coming from and yep the the airbag will be the scary bit

The procedure for removing the airbag is to disconnect BOTH battery leads and wait 30 minutes. Once you have done this, release the steering lock and turn the wheel to access two Torx screws through the back of the steering wheel (T27 from memory). They are captive screws so won't fall out.
When they are lose, the airbag module will tilt forward and you can access the connector on the back, which can be a bit stiff to remove.
Place the airbag module out of the way, out of direct sunlight, and face up. I usually put it in the boot.
The only other tip from when I did this is to do a trial fit of the airbag to make sure it doesn't foul on anything: I had to disconnect it a second time to re-route the wiring to the switch because I wasn't paying attention the first time.
Most of the kits have a template for cutting the steering wheel, which is actually the scary part of the job!
