OMG. Now they are coated there are no markings whatsoever!!

--- Quote from: "simon15" ---if i remember correctly when i done dad 2" lift the front springs were smaller in diameter than the rears.

When you say smaller in diameter, do you mean the diameter of the spring coil?

When I fitted them, they are both the same overall diameter as they both seated on the base plate in the same way.

I think it is!!!

Tony F:
Front springs are shorter than rear ones.

I just popped outside with my tape measure and my 2"+ scorpion springs measure 14" top to bottom on the rear and 11.5" on the front (this is on the vehicle so is compressed)

BigA:
recently fitted new springs to my 300, and the rears were noticeably longer than the front.

Evening All,

Many many thanks to all of you who have answered this post or scrabbled around under the car with tape measures.

Do you ever get the feeling I should have posted this BEFORE I fitted my springs back to front.

AAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Take a look at the photo. (Tyres are BFG 235/85s by the way).

Front looks very good - it should do with a set of rear springs in. Tyres never touch.

Back looks okay, very slightly lower than the front - to get this height took a set of 2" spacers too. Tyres sometimes clip the rear. Without the spacers, the back looked like I'd filled the boot with the lead off the church roof.

Oh hum. Another job for the list.

IF IN DOUBT, ASK MUD CLUB FIRST!!
