does anyone know how i can get a bocsh pump back to standard settings it has been messed with big time.ie star wheel,diapham,fuel adjuster ans hex nut

What seems to be the problem with it. Generally the star wheel is turned 4/5 clicks in the anti-clockwise position, and the diaphram has a large step at the bottom. Point the largest point of the step towards the engine.

You may need to adjust it in ver small increments to stop the smoke. I moved mine less than 1/8th of a turn to cure this.

If it has been completely messed up then the best way is to take it off and have it put on a proper flow rig and recalibrated at a Diesel Specialist.  Typically this would be about £100 - £150.

Other wise it's just a case of trail and error....

What are you getting at the moment?? - too much smoke?

Sharpshooter:
Starwheel wise... anti clockwise increases the pre load, so reduces the fuel delivery rate, to get better power you want to be turning it clockwise  :wink:  - which reduces the preload on the diaphragm.

its a second hand one of a friend who took it apart to clean it ..Its for a engine that came with out a pump for my rebuild project

Then i would do as sugested. Take it to a diesel specialist to optimise the output for you. :)
