--- Quote from: "Range Rover Blues" ---Well that one whent way over my head.  What's a bleed valve then?
--- End quote ---

A slightly bodge method of increasing boost pressure...
A bleed valve, does as its name suggests... and bleeds air from before the turbo actuator - thus fooling it into thinking the turbo is supplying less boost pressure than it actually is.

Some bleed valves work quite well.... others don't.

I've had success with valves from my local pneumatic supplier in the past.. and cheaper than most other places.

sorry, just woke up!

the trouble with bleed valves is they can produce "spiking" where boost sharply jolts up and down as oil/gloop breifly bung up the aperture on the bottom of the valve.. (worse if a 3 way - one with a drain - fittted)

the dawes device is an evolution from the bleed valve using witchcraft and springs (google DAWES DEVICE)

the advantage is that the valve can be fitted in cab, allowing "on flight adjustment" however, fueling is NOT controlled by a bleed valve, so results can be iffy.... probably best spending an afternoon setting it up properly...

Whats the effect of fuel with the 200TDi tweaks?
